The ReBeat Generation Gorehound, Blair Mac Donald, Pat Darcus & Jimy are talking their Sunday Wang dang doodle/ Reedlemania ReView [Exposing the roots of classic rock] on the road and adding another date starting May 18th every Wednesday in New Westminter we be pitchin’ a wang dang doodle, This is not a jam but a drop in type of thing Like Gene Garcia used to have on commercial drive if anyone remembers that time. We’re looking to continue in the Old Style fashion, CDs sound great but roots music is a live experiene, come on down and Wang Dang Doodle Wednesday!!!!

The Heritage Ukulele Club

The East Van Ukulele Club is branching out! We’re now offering lessons and performance opportunities to New West enthusiasts at The Heritage Grill! Instructors are all musicians who love the ukulele.
Meetings are held Monday nights from 6 till 8. Beginners are always welcome. First visit is free. Drop-in beginner class from 7 – 7:45 – $10. BYOUke! Limited number of Club Ukes for sale or rent for …those without.
Song studies range from traditional Hawaiian and Americana to early rock & roll and vintage punk. Aloha Oe, Huki Lau, Happy Birthday and Let’s Go To *%#@$% Hawaii are a few current favorites.
Classes break down to beginner and intermediate groups with advanced students assisting their classmates in preparation for ensemble play. Singing is encouraged.
Students are also welcome to take part in the performing group program. Opportunities include Recitals, Ukulele Flash Mobs and Video Greeting Cards. Funds generated from the program go toward Club Development.
Club Director Gordon Smithers is a teacher and performer with over twenty years of experience. He is also available for private lessons on the ukulele, banjo, mandolin and guitar. In addition to his work with The DeadCats, SWANK and Witchita Trip, Gord hosts an open Jam at The Railway Club on Sunday evenings.

Indie Sundays at The Heritage Grill

The Heritage Grill’s Indie Sunday series features up and coming rock, pop and alternative bands performing in an intimate setting. Since launching the program in February of last year, we’ve presented The Niche, B-Monster, The Arbutus Collective, Brandon Webb & The Wicks, Silent Spring, Earthbound George, The Outliers, Beat Seeking Missiles, Cadence, 2 Days & Counting, Razorian, Leaders Of Tomorrow, Wintercoast, Cannons Indeed, The Furniture, Sharpknives, Boundary and Rumble, Hairless Bares, Johnny Maudlin, Tasty Animals, Parentheses, Man The Wolf, Rogues Riot, Band Of Mercy, Sheldon Witt, Free By Tree and Muffdusters. There’s plenty more great shows on the way. Watch this space for more details!
